Kalene Mission Hospital, Zambia
Kalene Mission Hospital is a 170 bed mission hospital in the North West Province of Zambia. This is in a very underdeveloped rural area, and is providing a medical service to a large catchment area, which includes patients from Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The hospital includes a full range of services [Medicine, surgery, paediatrics, O&G, HIV medicine, Tuberculosis program etc], and in 2011 performed over 800 intermediate and major operations, 1000 minor procedures and over 900 deliveries. Dr John Woodfield, the medical team leader, is returning to NZ for family reasons in 2012. There is an urgent need for a mission doctor to continue the development of the hospital. ICMDA is looking for a volunteer to compile a Global Directory of Medical Missions. This will be published after compilation, which is expected to take 3 years. The job will involve extensive communication with all stake holders of missions in all countries. Computer skills, especially desk top publishing and graphics, communications skills through skype and telephone are essential. The job is based in Vellore India. All living expenses will be fully covered. Once a year international travel to come to India and return will be covered. A minimum time to come out will be a year. Preference is for a graduate health professional but this is not an absolute requirement. The start date will be January or February 2012.

Urgently Needed: Christian Psychiatrist to Practice in Thailand
Beginning in June 2012, Dr. Bill Hoppe will be leaving Thailand for most of the year to go on furlough. He is currently the only psychiatrist on staff at Cornerstone Counseling Foundation (CCF) and the only native English speaking psychiatrist in northern Thailand. CCF's counseling practice has continued to grow steadily, and even with 9 professional staff they increasingly have to turn people away or delay their treatment for weeks or months. CCF exists to serve the needs of English-speaking missionaries in Asia and Thai Christians. Chiang Mai is a major center of mission activity in Asia and CCF needs a psychaitrist to come to Chiang Mai, either for a few weeks, a few months, a year, or several years.
