CMDS develops programs that promote a Christian view of medical ethics, encourage networking of like-minded colleagues and address the health and spiritual needs of the poor and needy.
The goals of CMDS are as follows:
Present a positive witness of God our Father and our Saviour, Jesus Christ, to the medical and dental professions and to recipients of their care; Assist Christian physicians, dentists, and medical and dental students to attain maturity in Christ; Emphasize the essential duty and privilege of every Christian to take a definite interest and share in world-wide missions.

We are expanding the usual concept of Medical Missions to encompass a much broader model of service opportunities for our members. We will provide opportunities for Shade Tree Clinics, as well as for Academic Medical Missions. There will also be opportunities for Evangelism among the elite of a nation, as well as among the poor. We will prepare for Crisis Emergency Medicine service as well as Short Term Mission Projects. These opportunities will address the local national, and international needs.

The new CMDS executive director, Dr. Roger Gingerich, has had a number of missions experiences and is networking with several organizations that can offer the CMDS membership a range of options for medical or dental missions involvement.
