Dr. Shalea Piteau Student Representative, CMDS National Board
“Hi future Christian Physicians and Dentists!
I am a graduating medical student who has been a part of CMDS all through my four years of medical school. I want to encourage you to get involved with CMDS locally and nationally. I was a student leader at the local chapter at UBC for first and second year, and then, the student representative on the national executive board in years three and four. I have met Christian students and doctors that have had a major impact on my life. The various conferences, mission trips and local events are some of the ways to get involved and meet other believers that have similar callings. By building community and family within CMDS, you have a place to grow, share, love, and care within the vast medical community. Experience what God has for you, during your medical training, and where you can develop into the physician you were created to be!”

Student Leadership Conference
The students had a fantastic time at the last Student Leadership conference! It began with a ride in a Celebrity Limousine from the Toronto airport to the retreat complex in Guelph. It continued with great food, and concluded with the establishment of lifelong spiritual friendships.
They realized the importance of "balance" in their personal and professional lives. They listened with keen interest to opportunities that would allow them to use and share their faith while following God in missions at home and abroad.
They will be very capable as they continue their careers into the future and will have a great impact on the future face of CMDS!
We hope that each of you had a blessed summer, and that you have been refreshed and renewed for the up-coming year. We serve an amazing God who calls us to join His work on our campuses.
The U of Calgary started school about a month ago, and God has done amazing things for our CMDS group. He has brought us many new first year students, and many of them are eager to participate in our CMDS events. God has also answered our prayers by granting the leadership team unity and vision, and we continue to seek Him with all our hearts as we follow His guidance and direction.
Next weekend, we will be having out Alberta CMDS retreat with the U of Alberta campus. Please pray that God will bring the students, and that we would grow closer to Him and each other during that weekend.
Finally, we have established a prayer team in our group, so please send us your prayer requests throughout the year. As we all begin the new year, it would be great to hear from each campus.
We'll leave you with this verse in closing:
"Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes." ~ Psalm 37:3-7
God bless, Jenny and Reuben
